Text 2 Nov R4 Card

Some of the newest games available on the Nintendo DS and DSi consoles were today announced as available to play on the R4 DS adapter card. The R4 DS adapter was a multimedia cartridge that could allow any gamer to turn their Nintendo DS or DS Lite console into what was basically a mobile media player. By adding support for external software such as the famous Moonshell media player, gamers could also turn their console into an MP3 player, eBook reader or even a movie player! This technology presented a new and exciting direction for Nintendo DS users and also turned the page on homebrew software (developed outside of Nintendo) to run on the DS console. As a result, nowadays you are able to paint pictures, chat on instant messengers, and in certain circumstances even make phone calls using microphone-enabled Nintendo DSi consoles. All of this was made possible thanks to the original invention of the R4 DS adapter card.

The original R4 DS adapter had a spring loaded way to load the Micro-SD card. However, it was discovered by the R4 DS team that many of these would fail, affecting up to 5% of the cards. For that reason, in early 2008 the R4 DS adapter team changed the Micro-SD mechanism to a push-slot one rather than anything that involved a spring. This fixed the issue and many then started calling the card the R4v2 as it was effectively the second iteration of the R4.

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future is a bold addition to the series, picking up the story where the Diabolical Box left off and hurling it into the future - quite literally. The game begins when Professor Layton receives a mysterious letter from his own apprentice, Luke, from what appears to be ten years in the future. Given his attendance at an interesting time-travel related event just two weeks before the receipt of this letter, things begin to get mysterious and sinister incredibly quickly. Layton and Luke immediately head off to investigate how these events are possible and could even be related.

Play the newest game in the Professor Layton franchise and other new games such as Transformers and Iron Man 2 on the R4 DS adapter card. Be sure to get your R4 DS adapter from a reputable retailer to avoid ending up with a fake card.

The R4DS card possesses unique functions and features. The card is developed for playing with gaming consoles. The card enables you to load as many games, music and movies, which are compatible to your gaming console.

It makes use of MicroSD (MSD) cards for storing and loading games. When you shop for R4 DS card, make sure it comes with the MicroSD card. Considering you own a MicroSD card along with the R4 DS, follow the steps below to set up the R4 DS card.

Steps:

1. If the computer you own has no slot for MicroSD card, then make use of a Universal Serial Bus (USB) adapter. A computer usually has the USB port. Here, having a USB 1.1 port will be enough. It may take some time, so that the files are loaded on to the card.

2. Slip this MSD card into USB adapter. Now, insert the adapter into USB port on your computer. Next, in ‘My Computer’, click ‘Removable Disc’ for that drive, which corresponds with this USB adapter. You may find it listed as memory card or SD card with any drive letter assigned.

3. Detach the disk, which comes with R4 for loading it onto your computer. Make a copy of disc files there on MicroSD card, to its root. For this, click the MicroSD card icon, copy and then paste all files there. Make sure your data files stay on the MicroSD card’s root.

4. Remove MSD card and place it down the bottom of R4.

5. Insert R4 into DS and turn on the DS. It will take you to R4 screen allowing you to decide over what you prefer doing. You may choose from the MEDIA, SLOT 2 or GAME options.

6. Use your R4 DS card for downloading games for the DS. Create files on the computer and then load them onto the DS using R4 or MSD card.
